METHODOLOGY
How this macro calculator estimates calories
BMR is calculated with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation: 10 × weight in kilograms + 6.25 × height in centimeters − 5 × age + 5 for males, or −161 for females. TDEE is BMR multiplied by an activity factor from 1.20 for sedentary through 1.90 for extra active.
Goal adjustments are intentionally moderate: fat loss uses −10%, −20%, or −25%; maintenance uses 0%; and muscle gain uses +5%, +10%, or +15% for slow, standard, or aggressive pace. The calculator also applies practical guardrails so extreme input combinations do not create a misleading negative carbohydrate value.
